"Dear Sir, You will perhaps recollect that, some little time ago, I wrote to you suggesting that the compilers of the Book List for Young People had done E. Nesbit an injustice by naming her books only in the list of those suitable for the very youngest children, whereas, in reality, they were favourites with children of all ages. You replied telling me that you quite agreed with my criticism and that the mistake was to be rectified in the next list. I was therefore quite astonished to see that E. Nesbit's name..."
