"Dear Mrs Philips, I hoped not to have to bother you again until the proofs of "E. Nesbit" were ready, but I now learn with regret that Ernest Benn cannot reproduce the enclosed pictures without the actual photographs. Do you think you can possibly supply them or put him on the track of them ? A portrait of your father is, of course, absolutely essential but I have none except this which I reluctantly took out of my copy of one of his books..."
