"Dear Mrs. Sharp, I am really most reluctant to trouble you, but I can see no alternative. I have written on the topic in question both to Mr. Paul Bland and Mrs. Philips. Mr. Bland has not replied, and Mrs. Philips has passed over that particular query. As my complete script must be at Ernest Benn's office in ten days, and as I am already three months behind time, and very much fear that my agreement may fall through on this account, should be the biography not prove instantly satisfactory to the firm, my last struggles are feverish. The question is this - E. Nesbit wrote twice in 1912 to her brother to say that a one-act play of hers had been accepted by a London manager..."
