"Dear Madam, I see from your letter in the Times that you were acquainted in childhood with E. Nesbit. I have the honour to inform you that I am writing a biography of Mrs Bland for Messrs Earnest[sic] Benn, the present publishers for her books for children; and I shall be very glad indeed if you can communicate to me any reminiscences, however,[sic] trivial, which might be of value to me in forming my impressions..."
