"Dear Miss Breakell, I am so sorry to bother you again, but I still have one or two questions to ask about "E. Nesbit" which the members of her family do not seem able to answer, and Dr John Bland suggested my approaching you again. The first of these questions is this:- I have been in formed that Saretta was only the half sister of Edith. If this is so, can you tell me whether it was Edith's father or mother who had been twice married?..."
