"Dear Sir, I have the honour to inform you that I am writing a biography of "E. Nesbit" under an Agreement with Messrs. Ernest Benn. As I understand that you were the Editor of the Strand Magazine during the period over which Mrs. Bland was a constant contributor to it I would be very grateful to you if you would give me some reminiscences of your contact with her. If it would make it any easier for you for me to obtain these reminiscences..."
