"Dear Madam, I have the honour to inform you that I am working on a biography of "E. Nesbit," under an Agreement with Messrs. Ernest Benn, the present publishers of nearly all her works. Dr. John Bland assures me that you will be able to give me reminiscences of the middle period of her life which will prove of considerable calue[sic] to me and I should therefore be very grateful if you could spare me the time for an interview..."
