I naturally regret that you do not find my novel suitable for your list, but I am much encouraged by your opinion that it will soon be placed elsewhere. Two other firms, as I mentioned, have approached me for a novel, but unfortunately neither of them publish books which appeal to me very much, so I fear we may not prove congenial..."
