"Dear Mr Hewitt, I am extremely grateful to you for your gift of two most welcome copies of the Neolith. You have been very kind indeed, and I am much indebted to you. I shall get in touch with Mr Jackson, but perhaps I had better wait till I return to London as it is far better, as a rule, to converse with people than to correspond. Enclosed I am sending a typewritten copy of the verses which you said you would be kind enough to put in the hands of one of your assistants for coopying[sic]..."
