"... I understand that she had a child or children who died in infancy. If so, could you give me any idea of the dates of these losses? I cannot trace the births of any children except Paul, Iris, and Fabian, without spending a good deal fo money on reseach[sic] at the Record Office, and I am afraid I cannot afford this at the moment. It has been communicated to me by a member of the family that Mrs. Nesbit's means were straitened through a drain on her resources made by her two sons, Alfred and Henry..."
