"Dear Sir, Your book "In The Valley of Tophet" has come here for review. I have read it, and after some hesitation, I yield to the temptation to write to you about it. The desire to write to a stranger about his work has only twice before come to me. To write of your stories in detail would be to to[sic] bore you - let me then briefly say that their strength and pathos seem to be equally notable..."
