"My dearest Mother, Have you received any of my other letters yet. I hope so. Am I not to learn singing. I want to do so very much indeed. The nuns are all very kind to me though I have been very naughty, but I am very sorry and intend to be good now. Poor little Marguerite Fornier is very ill indeed. Whenever she moves or is taken out of bed the blood comes out of nose mouth and ears. The doctors are very anxious about her..."
