Scope and Contents

"Berta dear - I am so sorry about Arthur. I hope you are going to see him yourself. Fathers, however perfect, aren't the same as mothers. Once at a school where I had been quite contented I was one term wretched - for reasons - and wrote home saying so and imploring to be taken away. They did not come - they wrote saying I should feel all right and happy again soon and I didn't. I was miserable the whole term and refused to return at the end. Do go yourself and worm out of him what it really the matter - Unless, of course, his father finds out and makes things all right..."
