"Dear Mrs. Bland, I was with the party of Puffin Club members who went to the E. Nesbit Exhibition at Well Hall Tudor Barn last Saturday, but unfortunately, I was not able to meet you then. Mr. Glencross said that you were there, but unhappily you had left before he could introduce me. It would have given me so very much pleasure to meet someone so closely connected with one of my own favourite authors and it would give our members, many of whom share my own passion for the Nesbit books, a great deal of pleasure if you could give us some particular memory of your own..."
