Scope and Contents

"My dear Mrs. Langley Moore, Herewith the E. Nesbit letters which I promised you. There do not seem to be as many as I thought, but I hope what there are will be of use. There was one of hers which I cut, in order to put up on my screen of letters about my work, which said "You always have such nice things to eat in your novels. It was a comfort to me, when subsisting on glasses of Cowlicks' Malted Horse, to read about the beautiful lunch given by Lady Day to Captain Rhos" (in my novel "Sir or Madam")..."
