Scope and Contents
This sketch was illustrated by Michael Renton. In the lower left corner of the matte is an attached note, printed in black ink, that reads "Brede Place, Sussex Home of Stephen Crane, author of "The Red Badge of Courage," from 1899-1900. Wood Engraving, 3 1/2 [gns]. On the back is a stamp that reads "Ex libris John Bennett Shaw."
