Six sets of 333 photographs by unidentified persons, most likely relating to the amphibious invasion of Leyte (Oct-Dec 1944), under the command of General Douglas MacArthur. The first set: 37 images, 10 of which are duplicates, of an invasion of an unidentified island, possibly during the invasion of Leyte in 1944. The second set: 10 images taken in Manilla c. 1945. The third set: 131 images taken in Leyte in 1945. The 4th set: 100 images identified as being Leyte Island c. 1945 and the town of Tacloban. The 5th set: 22 images labeled "Misc", depicting various buildings around the PI. and Hawaii. The 6th set: Approximately 33 35mm contact prints sheets. Many of the snapshots feature local islanders and town life, servicemen engaged in their duties. Few of the images are annotated.

Included with the photographs is a stamped and postmarked (Honolulu) US Coast Guard envelope addressed to S/Sgt William H. Meyer, c/o Mrs. Emma Rowe from Comdr. William H. Meyer, Med Center; Navy No. 48, c/o F.P.O. San Francisco, Calif.
