Scope and Contents

....made by the order of Brig. Gen. S.W. Kearny, under instructions from Lieut. W.H. Emory, USTE by Lieut's J.W. Abert and W.G. Peck, USTE, 1846-7. Map shows the Territory of New Mexico as it appeared shortly after the conclusion of the Mexican War. Also included are the course of the Rio del Norte and adjacent areas; Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos; the road to Bent's Fort; Ruins of Pecos; and the Gold Mountains near Tuerto.
