Scope and Contents

Map showing Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma Indian Territory; portions of Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and New Mexico. Map bears extensive handwritten notations, in red and blue pencil, indicating scattered bands and exterior limits of the range; main range as they existed in 1868-1870, 1872 and 1873.

Resembles the 1867 “Section of the Map of the States of Kansas and Texas and Indian Territory with parts of the territories of Colorado and New Mexico. The routes of the "Southern Pacific Railroad" and the "Little Rock and Fort Smith Railroad" are based on plans plans failing about 1870, the Southern Pacific route being taken over as the Saint Louis-San Francisco (Frisco) Railway Company.
