Manuscript, correspondence, photographs, original sketches, and maps of Ferdinand Huszti Horvath, who served in the Austro-Hungarian army. The manuscripts consist of Horvath's draft for the publication of his memoir "Captured!" in which he describes his capture and internment by Russians, and his eventual escape.

Physical Description

Portfolio, possibly repurposed from "Natural History of the Animal Kingdom" by Dr. G. H. von Schuberts. Constructed of tan-colored heavy stiff boards with cotton string ties. Originally housed the chapter manuscripts for Horvath's memoir. "Ferdinand Huszti Horvath. New York Cy. 365 Manhattan Ave" is handwritten in pencil on the front board.
