Scope and Contents
Mon. July 1st 1918. Drilled & foot inspection. Dry [Bowl/Bond] movies at night. Fire in tent 19th Co.
Tues. July 2nd 1918. Corporal Casey received his stripes. Went on 12 hour Q.M. guard at 6.45 P.M.
Wed. July 3rd 1918. Got back from Q.M. guard at 9 A.M. Took shower & wrote letter to Elsie V. Bredin. Got letter from Elsie Johnson telling me of her father's death (my uncle) Gustave June 27th 4.50 P.M. [?] a bit. Got letters from Alfreda & May Lewry.
4th of July 1918. Inspected & signed payroll again. Wrote letters to Anna Ericksen, Bloomquists, Elsie Johnson Alfreda & Papa. Got [crackers] from Alfreda & May Lewry.
5th of July 1918. Received $14.30 - 1st pay in National Army expect a transfer tomorrow.
Sat. July 6th 1918. Got card from Papa Letter & pictures from Walter & letter from [cousin] Ruth Lindberg. Taking it easy at Y 76.
