[Continued from page 33] has moved to Captain's Hdqtrs. & G. Hdqtrs have moved elsewhere. Detail under Corporal Wilson caught under explosions of shrapnel which just cleared the tree tops over our section of emplacements. The closest yet since here. Sargent Voorhees in charge now. Man & boy found by Capt. of "F" Co. probably killed by patrols. They took helmets & rifle from them, the hair sticking to the helmets they had been there so long. We ducked many shrapnel shells all afternoon. They came closer to us than any since we are here. Private threw 2 hand grenades at [?] in wire entanglements and nearly killed our own men. Two patrols met to our right.
Sunday Oct 13th 1918. Stood watch from 2 a.m. tp 6 a.m. with [Pavensa "Malerines"] Went for chow at 9 a.m. & Corp. Wilson shot a squirrel 3 times before he could pick it up. Had slumgallin coffee
