Scope and Contents
Wed. Nov. 6th 1918. Good eats with Corporal Staff. Gold, Wizerman, Shannon, [Mandel], Hays myself [Aden] [Pavensor] twice daily [?] jam can of sweet coffee & bread french. [Sneezing] gas shell exploded near us. I sneeze once. At night I gave gas alarm. During the night Private McClosky was injured by H.E. in head hip & left heel. Corp. Allen & Woodby left implacement two times. 3 new shell holes on grub path this A.M.
Thurs. Nov. 7th 1918. Went for chow with Aden & Pavensor got jam molasses coffee sweetened bread & bacon. Turning ammunition. On watch from 4 P.M. yesterday to 9 P.M. and 12 mid. to 3 A.M. very quiet except for a few shells [and] again 9 to 12 A.M. at M. 7 [Bazor] a la du Somme (Beva... Verdun) 3K. Private McClosky die 1/2 past 6 I believe Had 1 1/2 loafs of bread beans beefsteak coffee & jam. On guard 6 to 9 P.M. with Hayes.
