Scope and Contents
Nov. 8th 1918 Fri. On guard at 12 midnight to 3 A.M. We fired heavy artillery barrage to Germans on left side of position. 3 shots every 3 hours from 1 German gun [whee 22 ?] Chow at 7 a.M. jam bread coffee sweetened & slum. Staff & I & Wizeman & Hayes put stones on muddy paths in [dry] out. Washed feet in spring & change socks. Our railroad dugout is under the tracks & has 2 exits. Lieut. Stillwell & Boykin called this noon. " " called yesterday also & Capt. White was here this A.M. I signed payroll & Sargent Newbold said he would look into the 2nd enlistment pay. We hear of [150] mile advance & near Luxembourg " " Chancellor of Germany calling at Paris to sign peace and that our artillery was to cease firing at 2 P.M. but I hear them shooting yet. Over
