Scope and Contents
Sat. Nov. 23rd. I met Paul Rock also yesterday. We hiked this a.m. from Vanbecourt to [Chardoyne] we passed [petit] and marched about 12 kilos. I bought 10 bars chocolate at 1/2 franc 4 pkgs [raisin] at 1/2 franc & 1 pkg lemon snaps and ate most of it while on guard at Wagon Train in moonlight last night 8 to 12 mid. Warmed up at fire with 2 Co. A men. Been very cold & freezing these last 2 days.
Sunday Nov. 24th 1918. Left [Chardoyne] for [Harronville] passed through Brillon blankets stolen. Stole can jam grape [?] from wagon & divided up with [Chantel] Shaved 1st time in 3 days. Got here in 1/2 day after a stiff march. Saw Major General Bailey [who] pass by in auto. Mail at night from Alfreda, Walter & Papa Larkin 1 R.T. Delany 3 & [Arthur] Bloomquist.
Mon. Nov. 25th. Didn't get razorblades from Papa yet. [ ?] at 4.15 after freezing all night. We hiked from Harronville to Eclaron & [Hammoncourt] passing St. Dizier a big town. Had plenty of chow - cold woolly & hot [tomato] soup & coffee.
