[Ccontinued from 63] lunch behind & froze also. Hot bath pail of cold water thrown on you & then your steamed clothes & blankets returned. Placed on guard at 3.45 p.m. and placed on #2 post. did not rain. Am saving chewing gum.
Jan. 2nd. Still on guard - breakfast of molasses - bread coffee applesauce & slum. Rained in a.m. Went to bed early.
Jan. 3rd Fri. 1919. Drilled all day rained. Wrote May Lewry and recived letters from Pete & May Lewry.
Jan. 4th Sat. 1919. Inspection had it easy. Wrote to F.A. Marquand. Got paid 81 francs - 2nd enlistment pay started with Nov.
Jan. 5th Sat. 1919. Wrote postals to all. Pavenour bought them for me at [Chetelton].
Jan. 6th 1919. Drilled on mt. top. Letter from Pvt. H. Adamson.
