Jan. 7th. Drilled all a.m. & p.m. we went up to top of mt. & skirmished. Got [?] & helmets yesterday & other stuff t-day.
Wed. Jan. 8th 1919. Drilled on mts.
Thurs. " 9th 1919. Got 33 at pistol range belt [?] (smoked cigarettes)
Fri. Jan. 10th 1919. Drilled a.m. & p.m. went on mt. top & played games under Lieut. [Smeltzer].
Sat. Jan. 11th 1919. Went to [Chitillon] on French leave and was caught by top Sgt. Went with [Mandell] came back with [Gold] also & [Stuhl]. Bought 1 france grapes 2 francs of hazelnuts dates & figs 1 pcg of crackers & gum.
Sun. Jan. 12th 1919. [?] peeled spuds with [Moore] Maddox Cox. Writing letters got [?] Co. letter.
Mon. Jan. 13th [Massingz] smoking raising hell & right for nothing.
Tues. Jan. 14th " letter from May L. got [?]
Wed. K.P. Jan. 15th K.P.
Thurs. Jan. 16th played [soccer] football on mountain. Top letter from Papa with [?]
