Scope and Contents
These files were originally accessioned in 2014. They consist of a French transcription of a taped interview that Romaine Brooks gave in Paris to an unknown male French interviewer. There is also an English translation of the interview.
The original audio recording is part of the Romaine Brooks papers from the Archives of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution. The translation was done by Jean-Loup Combemale and Suzanne Stroh.
