Handwritten records for July 1928-July 1930. Introductory note by acting manager C. W. Short [?] reads in part: “Tulsa Municipal Airport. Tulsa Okla. 1928. Threshold of New Era. National Air Tour arrived at the New Tulsa Municipal Airport July 3rd 1928. Twenty four planes in all, leaving July 5th at 9AM. The New Airport was dedicated on the afternoon of July 5th 1928 and the first airmail left this airport, leaving Tulsa at 6:30 PM July 5th. The airplane a Pitcairn piloted by Earl Rockwood carrying 186 pounds of mail. The dedication program climaxed three full days of interesting events….” (Wiley Post p110, 142; Amelia Earhart p112).
