Biographical / Historical

John Roger Walls Shleppey (1901-1975) was a Tulsa area businessman and collector who owned and operated Shleppey Outdoor Advertising. Later he owned a bookstore in Seattle. He was a lifelong acquirer of things, beginning when he was a child before 1920. His extensive collection of books, artifacts, and papers was bequeathed to the University by the Shleppey family following his death in September 1975.
