Biographical / Historical
John Roderigo Dos Passos was born on January 14, 1896 in Chicago, Illinois. He was an American novelist and artist. As a young man, he travelled Europe, England, and the Middle East to study classical art, achitecture and literature for six months. In 1912 he enrolled at Harvard University and graduated four years later. In 1917, he volunteered to serve in WWI. He published his first novel "One Man's Initiation," in 1920. His political views were reflected in his novels. He is noted for his book, "USA Triolgy" but wrote many published works as well as created paintings. He died on September 28, 1970.
