Scope and Contents

The Margaret Crosland correspondence consists of approximately 250 handwritten letters, postcards and typed letters from Crosland to Peter Owen and /or the associates of Peter Owen Ltd. (Elizabeth Moore, Elfreda "Freda" Powell, and Michael Levien); approximately 265 carbon copy typed letters from Peter Owen and/or his associates to Crosland; and other occasional related typed letters between Crosland and/or Peter Owen Ltd. With other publishers, translators, authors, etc. Please note that many of Crosland's letters bear notations or instructions written in the margins, possibly by Peter Owen.
