"My dear Madam, Thanks very much for your letter. I am much interested in what you tell me about the Blands. I was very keen upon her books between twenty and thirty years ago. I always understood that he was quite a militant Socialist and as that brand of Socialism is banned with us it is probably the reason why he ceased to practice for so many years.  Item — Box: 3, Folder: 9
Identifier: 2005.002.1.3.9.004

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to Julia Briggs, 1986-12-02

 Item — Box: 3, Folder: 9
Identifier: 2005.002.1.3.9.006
Scope and Contents

Written by Gene Rinkel, the curator of Special Collections at the Urbana-Champaign Library. Rinkel mentions enclosing photocopies of several letters, which have been separated from this original.

The bottom of Rinkel's original letter and the verso has portions of handwritten information in a handwriting that does not match his signature. It is likely that this is by Julia Briggs, as she made notes constantly, and this does appear similar to her handwriting.
