biographical statement

Tulsa area businessman and collector who owned and operated Shleppey Outdoor Advertising. Later he owned a bookstore in Seattle. He was a lifelong acquirer of things, beginning when he was a child before 1920. His extensive collection of books, artifacts, and papers was bequeathed to the University of Tulsa by the Shleppey family following his death in September 1975.

Recto illustration features a color lithograph of people in a shopping mall outside of Rickey's. Verso is the mailing side. "Red Chimney - San Francisco" has been circled in pencil, and the words "STONESTOWN SHOPPING CENTER" have been written in pencil.
