Shleppey, John W., 1901-1975
biographical statement
Tulsa area businessman and collector who owned and operated Shleppey Outdoor Advertising. Later he owned a bookstore in Seattle. He was a lifelong acquirer of things, beginning when he was a child before 1920. His extensive collection of books, artifacts, and papers was bequeathed to the University of Tulsa by the Shleppey family following his death in September 1975.

Letterhead indicates that they were headquartered in New York City. Letter is in response to an inquiry from Shleppey, and describes how nice the Olympia is and how good the food is.
