Shleppey, John W., 1901-1975
biographical statement
Tulsa area businessman and collector who owned and operated Shleppey Outdoor Advertising. Later he owned a bookstore in Seattle. He was a lifelong acquirer of things, beginning when he was a child before 1920. His extensive collection of books, artifacts, and papers was bequeathed to the University of Tulsa by the Shleppey family following his death in September 1975.

Recto has an illustration of a Mexican woman dressed in traditional dance outfit, with men drinking Carta Blanca beer. Verso has a "Dinner Dance Menu" that includes steaks and a Mexican dish. Possibly from the 1962 Seattle World's Fair?
