biographical statement

Tulsa area businessman and collector who owned and operated Shleppey Outdoor Advertising. Later he owned a bookstore in Seattle. He was a lifelong acquirer of things, beginning when he was a child before 1920. His extensive collection of books, artifacts, and papers was bequeathed to the University of Tulsa by the Shleppey family following his death in September 1975.

City and state not specifically indicated, but the verso lists several locations: Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and New York, with general offices in Cleveland. Meny lists lunch plates, sandwiches, etc. Curiously, dishes like meat loaf and lasagna that Stouffer's has become famous for manufacturing for frozen-food grocery store offerings are not listed. An attachment card says that this is "National Cherry Week" and a series of cherry desserts...
