Swatch of rayadillio fabric Shanafelt allegedly cut from the pant leg of a dead Spanish soldier. Enclosed handwritten note reads: I put in a piece of Spanish uniform taken of [off] a Spaniard killed in fight. That is the kind of cloth their uniforms are made of. With love Dick.
