Scope and Contents
Transcribed copy of the original letter.
"Dear Madam, I believe that Mrs. Clifford Sharp has written to you to inform you that I am working on a biography of "E. Nesbit," which has been commissioned by Messrs. Ernest Benn, the present publishers of nearly all her works. Mrs. Sharp assures me that you will be able to give me reminiscences of her early life which will be of the greatest value to the book, and she appears to think that you will be kind enough to grant me an interview..."
