An Open Letter to Betty Friedan, 1970-08-01
Scope and Contents
"...We know, from reading your book, that you relate to the middle-class-bored-oppressed-psychically repressed-unfulfilled-Amerikan [sic]-consumer-housewife. We too relate to her but as revolutionary feminists we relate also to the economically, socially and racially oppressed...Do you even know these women exist?...We want you to understand we are not doing this because we like your song. This song is dead because it was 'produced' for money...." Letter of protest signed "Some RED WITCHES".
