Edith Sitwell
Scope and Contents
The Edith Sitwell material is subdivided into writings, correspondence, and miscellaneous. The writings consist of handwritten, typescript, and carbon copy typed drafts of lectures, poems, articles, and reviews by Edith Sitwell. The correspondence consists of 76 handwritten and typed letters and postcards, (a few being in the form of transcriptions or photocopies), and 5 telegrams, between Edith Sitwell and her friends, colleagues, publishers, and others, (including Lorna Andrade, Allanah Harper, Zosia Kochanski, Raymond Marriott, and Pavel Tchelitchew); correspondence dates from 1928-1963.
The miscellaneous material includes poetry reading and lecture announcements, a photographic reproduction of Edith Sitwell pictured with Pavel Tchelitchew and Allen Tanner, a photographic reproduction of a Wyndham Lewis portrait of Edith Sitwell, and a suggested attendance schedule for Edith Sitwell's nurse and housekeeper.
