General

18th plate size tintype of a seated man. Tintype was in a cardboard frame with a rectangular frame with "From your friend J. M. Lehman." written on the back, but this frame was not the photograph's original frame. The photograph's frame had an elliptical opening rather than rectangular opening, this can be seen from selective wear on the plate. Also, the plate has has scrap paper pasted to the back of it (used to mount plates to some kinds of cardboard frames) but the frame with the rectangular opening requires not mounting.
