General

3.75x2.75" photograph of a toddler wearing a dress and holding a feeding bottle. The bottle is glass and has a rubber tube that extends from the opening in it to the mouthpiece, this kind of bottle was very popular in the second half of the 1860s and through the 70s, but it fell into disuse becaue it was difficult to clean. Many think that these bottles contributed to the high infant mortality rate. Photograph is mounted onto a 4.5x3.5" scalloped cardboard mat.
