Scope and Contents Artist Alexandre Hogue (1898-1994) was born in Memphis, Missouri and lived in Denton and Dallas, Texas before moving to Tulsa in 1945. He was chair of The University of Tulsa School of Art from 1945 to 1963 but continued teaching at the university until his retirement in 1968. The gallery in Phillips Hall has been named in his honor.Hogue's paintings of the Dust Bowl era won him international acclaim. This collection, which was compiled by David Farmer and Rennard Strickland, principally consists of photocopied research materials concerning John Rollin Ridge used in their book, A Trumpet of Our Own, published in 1981.

Scope and Contents Harriet G. Barclay was Professor of Botany at the University of Tulsa, teaching part-time at the University of Tulsa between 1929 and 1942, and later assuming a full-time position in 1942. In 1949, she was promoted to Professor of Botany and in 1953 was appointed Chair of the Botany department. In 1958 she received a National Science Foundation grant for a year of botanical research in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. She retired in 1972, at which time she was appointed...
