Scope and Contents
Consists of the articles of incorporation, by-laws, meeting minutes and resolutions of the directors and stockholders of the State Capital Printing Company of Guthrie, Oklahoma. These have been pasted into a ledger and date from 1900 to 1911. Frank H. Greer served as president, and Frederick H. Byers as director of the State Capital Printing Company during the period this archive covers.

Biographical / Historical
State Capital Publishing Company was started in 1889 by Frank Hilton Greer. The original building stands today as the State Capital Publishing Museum. The building constructed in 1902. Located in downtown Guthrie. Greer's business was one of the largest printing operations in the southwest and the three most widely circulated newspapers in Oklahoma. Greer helped start the Oklahoma Press Association. In 1892, he was elected to the Oklahoma Territorial House of Representatives. He brought the first linotype machine to Oklahoma.
