The bookseller from which the material was acquired attributes this notebook to Higley, although there are handwritten entries in various hands. The photographic portrait would appear to be that of Higley according to "Linn County Soldiers and Sailors World War 1", data contributed to the American History and Genealogy Project by Robert Barker (copyright Sandra Newman Sanchez).
