Scope and Contents

The Claire Sprague archive of the Doris Lessing Society consists of materials collected during Claire Sprague's tenure as president of the Doris Lesing Society (1980-1988) and as editor of the Doris Lessing Newsletter (1982-1988). It includes a full set of the newsletter from Winter 1976 through Spring 1988 with scattered issues after 1988, typescripts of many articles submitted to the newsletter, and related editorial correspondence. The archive relates to the Doris Lessing Society's Modern Language Association (MLSA) sessions and its incorporation and acceptance as an MLA Allied Organization (1977-1979).
