The John Bennett Shaw Collection is comprised of extensive collections of modern literature, books relating to Native Americans, early travel, and Oklahoma, archival materials, photographs, pamphlets, phonographic discs. The modern authors represented include William Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Wolfe, John Steinbeck, and Katherine Mansfield.

Donation from John Bennett Shaw in various accruals between 1963 and 1972. Further poshumous gifts were also made.
