Text roughly translates to "Through this we fulfill the sad duty of the passing of my dear husband, our faithful father and grandfather..." and lists Schabert's titles and honoraries. There is also a list of named relatives.

Formal and original document appointing Ernest Andrews to be the Consul in Rangoon for the King of Siam. Signature at the bottom reads "Salisbury," likely signed by or for Britain's Prime Minister in 1899, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury.
