Handwritten draft of a proposed novel written in Rebecca West’s hand under the pseudonym of Isabel Lancashire. Vols. 1-4 in 4 manuscript notebooks. (See also Series 2: Writings: “Adela”) The following pages were identified as missing or mis-numbered prior to being disassembled for preservation purposes: 5.2: p.10 there is evidence that this page had been torn out of the notebook; p24 torn out; p.31 No evidence of missing page - West apparently skipped "p31" in her numbering, jumping from p30 to p32; p. 41-42 these pages would have been on a conjugate leaf in the center of the notebook where it is easier for pages to come loose, which is probably what happened. 5.3: p36-45 leaves are missing from the center of the notebook. 5.4: p39-42 leaves are missing from the center of the notebook.
